Ingredients for making Crab cone with shrimp:
2 tilapia fillet
100 grams of fresh or frozen shrimp
2 tablespoons of butter
2 tablespoons of olive oil
3 tablespoons of wheat flour
500 milliliters of milk
2 garlic cloves
1 cup of breadcrumbs
1 egg
parsley to taste
salt to taste
frying oil
scallop shells to fill
How to make Crab cone with shrimp:
Gather the necessary ingredients to prepare this crab cone recipe. If you are using frozen tilapia and shrimp, let them thaw before starting to cook. Milk and egg should also be at room temperature.
Heat a pan with the butter and olive oil and sauté the chopped garlic until it starts to brown.
Tip: Don't let the garlic brown too much so that it doesn't taste bitter.
Chop the tilapia fillets and prawns into pieces, place in the pan and mix.
Tip: If you want you can also use crab meat in this recipe. In this case use 100 grams of crab meat, 50 grams of shrimp and only 1 fillet of tilapia.
Then add the flour and stir to mix it with the other ingredients. The flour will help to achieve a creamier and thicker crab shell filling.
Tip: Sift the flour to avoid lumps. If you are gluten intolerant, use cornstarch instead of wheat flour.
Add milk little by little while mixing ingredients in pan. As you add the milk and mix you will notice that the shrimp and fish stuffing gets thicker. When you finish pouring the milk, keep stirring so that the filling is very creamy.
When your crab cone filling is creamy as in the photo, turn off the heat and season with salt and parsley.
Thoroughly wash and clean the scallop shells that will be used to serve this creamy crab shell recipe.
Put approximately 1 tablespoon of the filling into each ladle and press to make it very compact. Do not exaggerate the amount of filling so that it does not leak.
In a bowl place the beaten egg and in another bowl the breadcrumbs. Pass the stuffed crab shells in the egg and then in the breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to bread well.
Heat the oil in a pan or frying pan and, when hot, place the crab shells to fry until golden brown. Remove to a plate with absorbent paper.
Tip: You can also brown the cones in the oven at 200ºC, but this method takes longer.
Your delicious crab cone with fish and shrimp is ready! Serve it hot as a starter to your meal and we're sure everyone will rave about it. Enjoy your food!
